The next meeting of Low Cost Technology will be held in Albacete (Spain) the next 12th and 13th of July.
we mean by low cost to resources that can build yourself, or you can get free of charge (value added, as a "product support") is because the network is down or obtained free of charge for the user. With a broader perspective also would include general market resources that can be used as a product support (technical assistance).
The main element of low cost is knowledge. Without knowledge it is impossible to use low-cost solutions. The low cost (very close to do it yourself) requires knowledge to provide autonomy and self-sufficiency. One must be able to perform for himself much of the work. Low cost products always respond to a specific need but has not conducted a thorough analysis of the situation and possible solutions. For users and family on many occasions this traditional solution is the only solution to temporarily or permanently. From a global perspective of all possible solutions this knowledge to decide whether to invest money in an industrial solution or invest time in building a traditional solution. While low cost solutions require less financial investment for the acquisition is very possible that we should devote more time to the construction and maintenance, and this may lead to its efficiency is less. On the other hand commercial solutions can offer higher performance, better be finished or be more reliable but the difference in the price can not compensate for this increase, in some cases, quality.
